Getting Started
Do I need to create an account?
No! You can start without an account. Your data is stored locally. Create an account later to sync across devices.
Is Hooldbudget free?
Yes, Hooldbudget is completely free with all features available to everyone.
How do I start budgeting?
Click "Start without account", create a virtual card, and begin logging transactions. See our Getting Started Guide.
Virtual Cards & Periods
How many virtual cards can I create?
Unlimited! Create as many as you need for different purposes.
Can I change my period start date?
Yes, you can modify period dates anytime. Be aware this may move transactions between periods.
What's the difference between period types?
Monthly starts on a specific day each month. Custom uses fixed number of days. Infinite has no end date.
Transactions & Groups
Can I edit or delete transactions?
Yes, click on any transaction to edit or delete it. Changes update your balance immediately.
How do repeating transactions work?
Create once and they automatically appear in future periods. Perfect for rent, subscriptions, salary.
Can I move a transaction to a different group?
Yes, edit the transaction and select a different group from the dropdown.
Sharing & Collaboration
How do I share a budget with someone?
Go to Cards page, click on a card, then "Share". Enter their email and choose Editor or Viewer role.
What's the difference between Editor and Viewer?
Editors can add/edit/delete transactions. Viewers can only see data, not modify it.
Can I remove someone's access?
Yes, as the card owner you can revoke access anytime from the sharing settings.
Technical Issues
My balance doesn't match reality. What do I do?
Use the "Sync Balance" feature to create a correction transaction that adjusts your balance.
I accidentally deleted a transaction. Can I recover it?
Deleted transactions cannot be recovered. You'll need to recreate it manually.
The app is slow. How can I fix it?
Try refreshing the page. If issues persist, clear your browser cache or try a different browser.
Data & Privacy
Is my financial data secure?
Yes, all data is encrypted and stored securely. We never share your data with third parties.
Can I export my data?
Yes, go to Tools → Export to download your transactions as CSV.
Can I delete my account?
Yes, go to Settings and click "Delete Account". This permanently removes all your data.
